Messe Frankfurt defers two of its trade fairs in Vietnam: Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City and Secutech Vietnam
As a result of flight restrictions impeding business travel to Vietnam, Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media Ltd has announced the postponement of two of its trade fairs in the country. With a respective focus on automotive services and the safety and security industry, Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City and Secutech Vietnam, originally scheduled to take place concurrently at the Saigon Convention and Exhibition Centre this summer from 20 – 22 August, will be rescheduled to 2021.

Strong industry support as Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2020 sets new show date
To safeguard both public health and business development throughout the automotive industry in the midst of the global COVID-19 outbreak, organisers of Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City had announced in February to reschedule the 2020 show edition. After a careful assessment of the situation, the show will now take place from 20 to 22 August at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). This Vietnam’s leading trade fair for the automotive service industry will heighten government incentives to speed up the localisation and growth of the domestic auto industry. The fair expects 360 local and overseas exhibitors showcasing the latest products, services and technologies.
New date: Automechanika Frankfurt to be held from 14 to 18 September 2021
Due to difficult conditions resulting from the corona pandemic and measures taken to stem its spread, including event bans and travel restrictions that are regularly being extended, Messe Frankfurt and its customers, partners and supporting associations have agreed to postpone the Automechanika Frankfurt event that was originally scheduled to take place from 8 to 12 September 2020.

Automechanika Shanghai 2020 creates channels for cross-sector collaboration ‘Navigating a dynamic automotive ecosystem’ will be this year’s driving force behind the integration of resources across seven dedicated sectors and three specialised zones. From 2 to 5 December 2020, the fair is forecast to host 6,650 exhibitors, from all streams of the supply chain, throughout 366,000 sqm of space at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

Automechanika Istanbul is postponed to 25-28 June 2020
In 2019, Turkey’s Leading International Automotive Industry Fair hosted 1.397 exhibitors from 37 countries and 48.737 visitors from 130 countries breaking its own records once more. Although 2020 edition was expected to break a new record again and there are no cases confirmed in Turkey, unfortunately in light of the recent unforeseeable developments concerning the increasing speed of virus spread, COVID-19 (Coronavirus) for which the World Health Organization classified as epidemic and its widespread to an unprecedent area in a great speed, taking into consideration the public health and as a result of liaising with the industry’s leading associations and the stakeholders of Automechanika Istanbul and corresponding the various requests received from attendees and exhibitors of the fair and in order to not result with any forfeiture of rights or aggrievement, Automechanika Istanbul fair which was initially projected to be held between the dates of 02-05 April 2020 is postponed to 25-28 June 2020.
IFEMA ends partnership with Automechanika
Spanish trade fair organiser IFEMA has withdrawn from its partnership with Messe Frankfurt. Motortec Madrid has been held as a licensed event under the Automechanika brand since 2011.
Automechanika: At home worldwide
With 15 events in 14 countries, Automechanika is the world’s most successful B2B trade fair brand. The brand represents some 20,000 exhibitors and 600,000 trade visitors. The newest addition to the international trade fair brand was, when Automechanika Astana in Kazakhstan opened its doors for the first time in March 2019.
Messe Frankfurt’s upcoming Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City and Auto Maintenance & Repair Expo to be rescheduled
Messe Frankfurt has announced that two of the company’s Mobility & Logistics fairs in Asia have been postponed in the wake of the recent Novel Coronavirus outbreak. The two events include Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City (AMHCMC) and the Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo (AMR), which were originally scheduled from 5 to 7 March 2020 in Ho Chi Minh City and 15 to 18 March 2020 in Beijing respectively.
