Considered the ZM Core Business, the process of Cold Forming gives the name to the business that produces cold forged special components.

The production process of Cold Forged Parts is quite vertical and begins in the treatment of raw material with fosfate bath, heating treatment and wire drawing.

In the manufacturing large horizontal presses of multiple stages are used. There are also vertical, hydraulic and mechanical presses, with capacity to reach 600 tonnes.

The ZM has technology to develop and produce internally all its tooling, which offers greater speed and adequacy of the tool with all the equipment inside the production.

The ZM Cold Forged Parts are provided for major automotive industries, both for the OEM market (original) and for the spare parts market (Aftermarket), and cover several segments, such as electrical, suspension, steering, traction, brakes, fastening, among others.

Solenoid Switches for Starter Motors are the main product ZM, and they were the first business of the Company. Nowadays the line range is composed of 700 models with applications in vehicles worldwide, with direct sales to more than 35 countries.

ZM Solenoids Switches are recognized as products of excellent quality and high reliability being supplied to the main automakers and parts assemblers that are present in the OEM market - Original Equipment Manufacturer. There is also a strong marketing presence in the Aftermarket, the segment of spare parts.

Through this product the Company achieved significant technological advances allowing its expansion to other components and the definitive consolidation of its brand worldwide.

The experience of more than a decade in providing components for the transmission system contributed to the assertiveness of the fulfillment of the requirements needs to establish the mix of products, meeting the quality standards required by the market.

The ZM U-joints are produced by cold forming process while maintaining the internal fibers of the material. This technoloy gives the product a high mechanical strength and dimensional standards assurance. The selection of the steel and also is judicious use of chrome steel further enhances the resistance against torsion, impact and attrition.

The development of a Starter Motors line was a consequence and a natural aftermath of the success of the Solenoid Switches line. The large knowledge acquired during years of experience with these products provided an easy-going transition to the complete units.

Nowadays the Starter Motor occupies a special position in the Company's strategic planning. New models are constantly being developed combining the new technologies obtained through the experience on the traditional line of Solenoid Switches.

In addition to the automotive electrical line, ZM offers a complete line of Alternators. These products are designed to supply the domestic and export markets, where the company figured out a business opportunity taking advantage of its long experience.

With the real growth in sales and a promising projection the line has been increased by new models. These figure on the guarantee of ZM quality and a modern and optimized production process which gives them on one hand the endorsement of a consecrate brand and secondly the ability to introduce in the market with competitive prices.

Today's alternators can no longer be viewed as stand-alone, passive components that are simply bolted on to the engines of old.  In fact, today's alternators have been brought to forefront of engine design as an integral part of each FEAD (Front End Accessory Drive) system.  Pulleys are no longer one-piece donuts that passively spin the alternator in tow. From this need, ZM developed Decoupler Pulleys.
