Winners chosen at the Automechanika Body & Paint Championships in Shanghai
The Automechanika Body & Paint Championships have selected one more finalist for the 2020 competition: Sun Xiao Shuai, a painter sponsored by SATA, became the last finalist selected in 2019 for his creation entitled ‘The 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China’. The people’s choice award, for which trade fair visitors and paint enthusiasts had until 17 December 2019 to vote for their favourites online, went to Ian Lai. His car hood is an homage to the R-M paint brand, which is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year.
Automechanika Body & Paint World Championships: Round 2 in South Africa
Following its successful debut in Great Britain, the Automechanika Body & Paint World Championships are moving on to South Africa for round two. The next national winner for the grand finale in Frankfurt in 2020 will be determined at Automechanika Johannesburg, which is taking place from 18 to 21 September 2019.
Automechanika Body & Paint World Championships: The first finalist has been chosen!
Anthony Fryett of the UK is the first finalist in the international Automechanika Body & Paint World Championships. Fryett impressed the panel of judges at Automechanika Birmingham with both his design idea and his painting skills – which he applied to a bonnet. He will be joined by five other national winners for the grand finale in Frankfurt in September 2020. The next round of the competition will be taking place soon at Automechanika Johannesburg, with the remaining finalists being chosen at the upcoming Automechanika shows in Shanghai, Dubai, Mexico City and Frankfurt.
New cooperation between Automechanika and IBIS
The IBIS (International Bodyshop Industry Symposium) global conferencing platform and the international Automechanika trade fair brand are coordinating their schedules: the upcoming Automechanika fairs in Shanghai and Frankfurt will each feature an IBIS regional event.
Automechanika Frankfurt broadens its scope
The leading international trade fair for the automotive aftermarket is creating new structures for the 2020 event, both thematically and physically on the exhibition grounds. The portfolio will now be more clearly organised, particularly in the areas of workshop equipment and future mobility.
