For the third time, Automechanika Frankfurt will start on 8 September 2026 with a CEO Breakfast, bringing together international leaders from the automotive and supplier industries in a special setting. This year’s event will focus on Dr Bertrand Piccard – visionary explorer, innovator and pioneer of sustainable technologies.

Frankfurt’s first traffic light turns 100 – and signals the way to a connected future

It has now been 100 years since Frankfurt’s very first traffic light was presented in the Festhalle. Visitors were able to view this at the “Traffic Control Show” from 3 to 14 April 1926, and Frankfurt’s first traffic light went into active service on 7 April 1930. This development is still continuing: with the connected electronic systems found in vehicles today, mobility management is growing even more intelligent, safe and efficient. The latest solutions from the field of electrical and electronic systems will be on show at the upcoming Automechanika Frankfurt from 8 to 12 September 2026.

The award-winning format AMBITION, first introduced at Automechanika 2024, is entering its second round – bigger, more visible, and supported by a strong new network of partners. In 2026, the leading industry associations will also join the initiative and present their training and education programmes as part of AMBITION in the Festhalle. With this expanded concept and the new location, Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 is placing an even stronger emphasis on promoting young talents and shaping the future of automotive professions.
