Kryon® 134a is one of the main products replacing HCFC gases and is the non-ozone-depleting and non-polluting option. The product has an energetic efficiency and a refrigeration capacity similar to R12 but with a lower toxicity. Kryon® 134a is a reference refrigerant for motor vehicle air conditioning.

K-Leak Testers is an essential equipment that allows the pressurization of auto air conditioning systems; it works by simulating the operating pressure reached by the A/C system while working at the standard conditions. Using this equipment, the technician will be able to pressurize the system at the right pressure value, for a given refrigerant; the right operating pressure of each refrigerant is shown by the pressure gauge dial (each refrigerant is identified by different colors). Once the operating pressure is reached, the technician will be able to detect leakages in the systems (eg. caused by faulty components, badly executed flaring, defective welded joints) which will cause loss of pressure, detected by the pressure gauge included in the kit. The technician will thus be able to carry out precise diagnostics as to the type of failure, fix it, and guarantee system optimization.

R456A was designed to extend the availability of R-134a in automotive MVAC while providing a cooling capacity boost for older vehicles.

R456A is a drop-in and go replacement, no oil changes or other changes are required.

Since R456A utilizes a HFO refrigerant (R-1234ze), vehicle service can utilize a value added up sale of Shrieve’s Zerol HFO additive.

R456A lowers the GWP of the R-134a system by over 50% (from GWP 1,430 to GWP 687) giving regulators peace of mind that the existing R-134a fleet will “age out” gracefully.
