About us
Our Danish company, BORG Automotive Group, was founded almost 50 years ago and comprises BORG Automotive Reman, the Belgium-based company CPI (Car Parts Industries), and the trading company BORG Automotive Newman (formerly known as SBS Automotive).
BORG Automotive Reman and CPI is Europe’s leading independent remanufacturer of automotive parts. We only remanufacture original OE parts at our own European production facilities. The production is strictly certified according to quality standard ISO 9001: 2015, environmental standard ISO 14001: 2015, and certification for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems ISO 45001:2018.
The brands Elstock, DRI, and TMI belong to BORG Automotive Reman, and we are also a licensee to the well-known Lucas brand. Our product portfolio includes starters, alternators, steering racks, steering pumps, EGR valves, AC compressors, brake calipers, and turbochargers.
We are a “glocal” company with production facilities in the UK, Poland, and Spain. We run warehouses in several European countries. Being based in Europe, we combine a high production capacity with space for more than one million cores, enabling us to offer short lead times and high availability – even in times of uncertainty.
In 2017, the Danish conglomerate Schouw & Co. acquired BORG Automotive Group, strengthening our company’s position and making us a financially strong business partner.

It is in our DNA to run business in a responsible and future-proof way. Our business model is a significant contributor to the circular economy.
Remanufacturing minimises waste production, uses resources efficiently, and extends the product life cycle: Comparative life cycle assessments conducted by Linköping University show that our remanufactured products have an average tendency of lower environmental impact compared to newly produced equivalents. Our studies show a 60% lower CO2 eq emission, 42% lower energy consumption (MJ), and 70% less depletion of natural resources (SB-eq).*
Still, the quality of our remanufactured products matches OE, as we only use original parts and remanufacture them to as-new condition.
Prepared for the future
At BORG Automotive Group, we continuously research automotive trends and develop our portfolio accordingly, to be able to offer our customers relevant products.
We already supply a wide range of electric components, such as electric AC compressors, electric steering racks, and i-Stars. Being prepared for future technologies, we are already ahead of the current customer demand in terms of remanufacturing capabilities.

*The average reduction is calculated from index 100 for each newly produced product without taking into account differences in production volumes for the eight remanufactured products.
