Description

Innovating in Thermal Management

In the field of thermal management, we are a technology leader and offer a broad range of water pumps and modules. As hybrid and electric vehicles require a more complex concept, also repair demands evolve. At Automechanika we display latest technologies – including smart Thermal Management Modules.

Latest technologies for repair

Value-preserving spare parts and comprehensive repair solutions in OE quality – that's what Schaeffler's INA brand is renowned for. As an innovation leader, we offer a full range of different cooling technologies such as: mechanical, switchable, electric and auxiliary water pumps and Thermal Management Modules.

Diverse cooling demands in electric vehicles

In internal combustion engine vehicles, water pumps and thermostats ensure the working temperature of the engine. In hybrid and full-electric vehicles, the requirements for the thermal management system change. Therefore, components like auxiliary water pumps become even more relevant.

Battery-, inverter- and after run cooling are just a few areas of application to mention. For repair, Schaeffler offers a variety of pumps for high-volume vehicles – naturally in OE-quality and as handy plug-and-play solution.

Expanded range of Thermal Management Modules

Developed for global automobile manufacturers, the Schaeffler Thermal Management Modules precisely regulate the engine temperature. By controlling coolant flows in multiple circuits according to driving conditions, the modules lower CO2 emissions, increase driving comfort and reduce wear of parts, compared to a classical wax thermostat.

Supportive in E-Powertrains

Supportive in E-Powertrains

Schaeffler is actively preparing for the growing demand for repairs of hybrid and electric vehicles. Doing so, we leverage our original equipment expertise in electric drives to bring advanced solutions also to the independent repair market. At Automechnika we are showing our extended range of repair solutions for e-axles – including gearboxes and motors!

The alternative to a complete exchange of the e-axle

Damage to the e-axle can also occur as high torques and loads put enormous stress on the installed components. However, replacing the complete module, which can be composed of the e-motor, transmission, power electronics and thermal management, is very expensive for the car driver. Schaeffler therefore uses its experience in electric drives from original equipment and offers more cost-efficient repair solutions for independent garages.

For gearbox repair: Schaeffler e-Axle RepSystem-G

The Schaeffler e-Axle RepSystem-G is a first-to-market repair system for the vehicle´s gearbox application. Currently being available for high-volume models Volkswagen e-Golf and Hyundai Ioniq, it allows garage experts to repair the e-axle instead of replacing it, which is much more sustainable. Also, the associated repair costs for the driver amount to only about one fifth of the costs of installing a completely new e-axle. Thanks to our dedicated know-how, the Schaeffler E-Axle RepSystem-G includes all the relevant components for a professional gearbox repair in one box.

For the VW e-Golf it contains: ball-bearings, angular ball bearing, cylindrical roller bearing, tapered roller bearings, locking ring, oil seals, o-ring and end caps. This compilation enables independent workshops to carry out particularly simple, convenient and safe repairs, as all components are perfectly matched to the vehicle.

For e-motor repair: Schaeffler e-Axle RepSystem-M

The Schaeffler e-Axle RepSystem-M complements our repair solutions for e-Axles, with applications related to the electric motor. It allows to maintain the e-axle instead of completely replacing it, which is much more sustainable and cheaper for the car driver. It comes with all the relevant components in a box and dedicated technical information for workshop specialists. In addition, a specially designed tool ensures professional rotor disassembly and assembly.

Powerful in Engine

Powerful in Engine

Under our INA brand we offer cross-system expertise in key engine systems for the repair market. Our full-range product portfolio includes engine repair solutions for timing drives (both belt and chain drives), front end auxiliary drives, valve trains, cooling systems and exhaust management. At Automechanika we give a deep-dive into our expertise – including the recently launched NOx sensors!

Comprehensive engine repair expertise

Through its INA brand, Schaeffler is a dependable partner to the spare parts market for comprehensive engine repairs. We cover nearly every vehicle type, from traditional combustion engines to modern engine systems and hybrids. The portfolio includes components for the timing drive, front end auxiliary drive, valve train, cooling system and exhaust management.

Front End Auxiliary Drive: complexity requires professional repairs

As a result of the growing technological complexity, the load placed on the front end auxiliary drive in modern vehicles is extreme. Replacing a defective individual part often only helps as a short-term solution as further system components might be damaged as well, which is not always easy to detect. Thanks to the INA FEAD KIT, all affected components can be replaced in a single work step to ensure a lasting replacement. By the way: FEAD repair solutions are available for passenger cars, transporters, trucks and tractors.

For 48V-mild-hybrid systems, Schaeffler´s INA FEAD KIT does (in addition to the v-ribbed belt, tension and idler pulleys). As this technology is becoming increasingly popular, we expect a car parc of over 100 million vehicles by 2030 - a huge potential for independent garages.

New to range: engine exhaust management

With the introduction of Nitrogen Oxide Sensors (NOx) for the repair market, we are further diversifying our product range within the engine segment. As reliable monitoring of diesel emissions is crucial to comply with worldwide standards, a defective component should be urgently replaced.

Our plug & play repair solutions come in high-class OE quality and will be available for passenger cars, as well as for light & heavy commercial vehicles. Thanks to a robust design and high-quality materials, a long service life will be reached.

Strong in Transmission

Strong in Transmission

Leveraging our extensive OE expertise in transmission technologies, our LuK product brand offers a comprehensive range of repair solutions for damper, clutch and gearbox. We excel in both traditional combustion engine technologies as well as in advanced hybrid applications. At Automechanika we are presenting our entire know how – including many exclusive solutions!

Extensive drivetrain repair know how

For over 50 years, Schaeffler, through its LuK brand, has been a trusted partner to nearly all automotive manufacturers. For repair, our product range features powertrain solutions for passenger cars, light and heavy commercial vehicles, buses, and tractors.

Dedicated product portfolio for hybrid vehicles

Even though the impact of electrification on the independent repair market is still limited, the transition towards hybrid vehicles has significantly accelerated. Thus, we are offering a consistently growing product range for hybrid applications. This includes for instance a dedicated portfolio of dampers, many of which are exclusive to the independent aftermarket.

Modern hybrid vehicles with double clutch transmissions often require (like other transmission types) an automated disconnect clutch "C0". This allows the electric motor to be used independently from the combustion engine. Schaeffler not only supplies this clutch for series production but offers it for first vehicles as a complete repair set for the independent repair market, too.

Extended repair range for automated transmission

With the introduction of the LuK RepSet 2CT, Schaeffler has made professional double clutch repair available for independent garages. Today, the product portfolio covers a broad range of dry and wet double clutch applications.

Most double clutches work in combination with a Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) to prevent engine vibrations to impact the drivetrain. Due to the gearing of the DMF and double clutch, a defective vibration damper can also damage the clutch. In case of defect, Schaeffler is recently introducing a complete repair solution for double clutch and flywheel: the LuK RepSet 2CT DMF. Precisely matching components allow for effective repair and full functionality.

In addition, a portfolio of transmission control units (TCU) for automated gearboxes will be introduced soon. Being available for a variety of gasoline, diesel, as well as hybrid vehicles, it covers a broad car parc and offers strong business potential.
