In all cases where multilayer coatings are specified but work-intensive pre-treatment processes are to be reduced, POLYSIL offers one-component primers which adhere firmly to plastics such as PP and which can be overpainted with commercially available basecoats, and one-component or two-component  coatings.

POLYSIL primers can be supplied as required in 25 kg single-use tinplated drums or 200 kg single-use barrels, or for paint and body shops in 1 kg or 3.5 kg cans.

POLYSIL N1110, one-component standard primer, white, light grey and black or as required by customers.
POLYSIL N1114 EL, electrically conductive one-component primer, black. Like the N1110 standard primer, the N1114EL primer developed for serial finishing also adheres to non-pretreated, non-polar plastics, including fibreglass-reinforced PP. Its distinguishing feature is that it forms an electrically conductive dry film, which means that the coatings applied subsequently to the primer can be applied electrostatically. The trajectory of the atomised paint is thus directed towards the object to be coated. This avoids the high spray losses such as are experienced mainly with smaller surfaces. N1114EL can only be supplied in the colours light grey and black.

With the toluene-free contact adhesive Bond-O-Sil N1000 it is possible to bond plastics, including polypropylene (PP), expanded polypropylene (EPP), etc. permanently to one another or other materials such as metal, glass, wood, textiles etc. The surfaces to be bonded do not need to be pretreated or sanded, but they must be free of grease and clean. After Bond-o-Sil N1000 has been applied to both sides and then subsequently ventilated the parts to be joined are firmly bonded with one another by pressing them forcefully together. Afterwards the bonded parts can be processed immediately. The maximum adhesive strength is achieved after 48 h/20°C. It is not advisable to bond PE.

The product portfolio includes primers with a special POLYSIL agent to ensure excellent adhesion on non-pretreated polypropylene (PP), PP/EPM, ABS, PA6, etc. For this purpose there are both solvent-based and environmentally friendly, water-based primers available.

The aim is to optimise the finishing process with primers which render the flame treatment stage superfluous. A pioneering approach which, in close consultation with the customer, results in an optimised process.

Universal primer for plastic mounting parts which can be used without prior tempering and sanding of the surface

With POLYSIL you can now obtain an inexpensive and high-quality primer for non-pretreated polypropylene (PP), PP/EDM, ABS, PA6, etc. (PE is not recommended). POLYSIL paints offer excellent adhesion to PP surfaces and therefore you can save time-consuming preparatory work. This is becoming more and more important in particular because spare bumpers are being supplied increasingly without factory-applied primer. For spot repairs we offer POLYSIL in spray cans, and canisters for painting complete parts. POLYSIL primers can be overpainted with commercially available base coats and clear coats or other one-component and two-component top coats.

To repair defects, scratches etc. which may be necessary before application of the primer we offer the POLYSIL N1116 one-component smudge filler and the POLYSIL N1117 one-component spray putty.
