Our ECE R90 approved brake pads are designed to produce maximum performance for minimal price. Constructed using our triple retention system it ensures that the friction material can be relied upon, even in the harshest environments.

Using state of the art production facilities, accredited to OEM approval procedures and quality systems, Intelligent Braking brake pads are engineered to exacting standards. By using European formulations and materials, for our Stage 2 brake pads, you can be 100% confident in their performance and integrity.

1. Mechanical Retention

An integral steel mesh, stud welded to the backing plate, through and around which the friction material flows. When the friction material is cured the mechanical shear strength is greatly enhanced.

2. Adhesive Retention

The backing plate (and the steel mesh) is coated with thermo-setting phenolic adhesive. This delivers the standard industry bond for the friction material to the backing plate. Strong resistant to thermal stress.

3. Formulated Retention

The best compound for brake performance may not be the best compound for bonding. In order to ensure perfect bond conditions we insert an “interlayer” of material specifically formulated for bonding between the backing plate and the main friction material block. During moulding and curing this interlayer flows and fuses organically into the main friction block and adheres perfectly to the backing plate and steel mesh. The resulting final bond is fully secure.

Our range covers Car, Industrial, Light Commercial, PSV, Truck and Trailer applications. All of our Brake Drums are manufactured in accordance with the Original Equipment specification and designed to provide optimum operational performance. All our brake drums are batch coded and identity stamped. Our UK manufacturing facility provides us with the capability to produce special, low volume parts, quickly and efficiently but we can also develop new references economically, with low start-up volumes, through our off shore supply partners. We can also offer a customer specific marking service. Any brake drum can be stencilled with customer part number and / or company logo to promote your brand image.

Our Brake Drums are produced in ISO TS16949 approved factories from BS EN 1561:1997  material.  Each delivery is batch tested from continued material and deimensional conformity.

We stringently control the manufacture of our steel brake shoes, using materials
that conform to both German specifications, DIN St52-3 (for the web material)
and DIN Fe360B (for the table material).

Weld detail: Carbon Dioxide Gas Arc Welding guarantees strength, no cracked
or weakened welds and no distortion of the shoe webs.

Cam and anchor detail: Induction hardened cam and anchor for long term
durability and life. Hardness up to HRC35-45 ensures no wear to the pin recess,
preventing lateral movement.

Shoe platform detail: No corrosion or distortion to the shoe platform provides
optimum lining security and geometricity, which helps to reduce brake noise.

Rivet hole detail: No damage, elongation or ovality of the rivet hole, reducing the
risk of loose rivets due to bad fitting.

Cast Iron Shoes: Our cast brake shoes are manufactured from BS2789 / 10 material, painted and
coated with anti-rust preventative.

Brake Linings: We offer multiple formulations most are ECE R90 approved.
All materials are asbestos-free with metallic inclusions and friction modifiers.

Lined Shoe: In addition to our range of Cast and Steel Brake Shoes we also have available a
range of Lined "Wheel End" kits for the popular trailer applications.

All our Brake Discs are manufactured to our specification by ISO TS16949 accredited factories. Our O.E.S. approved quality systems and procedures ensure that our Brake Discs meet the exacting standards required by today's modern vehicles and will perform to similar levels as an Original Equipment part.
