Water pump is mounted on the cylinder block and fastened by the bolts. It circulates the cooling water by getting the driving force of crankshaft through the water pump drive belt or gear.

The water pump sends the cooling water down to a water jacket that surrounds the cylinder & cylinder head and the heated cooling water is chilled in the radiator, it flows into the center of the impeller, where it is pushed out by centrifugal force and goes to the cylinder block or head. Once an engine becomes heated, cooling water must circulate to cool the heat. The circulation of the cooling water not only helps the engine but also activates the heater of vehicle, which is why the water pump is essential to a vehicle.
