The regeneration itself is a process consisting in restoring 100% of the functional properties of worn or damaged recirculators. It can be a complex treatment, as a result of which the parts are restored to the required shape, dimensions, parameters and properties necessary for further work.

As a rule, it consists in replacing elements with new ones. In the case of exhaust gas recirculation, the shell and tube cooler is replaced with gaskets, o-rings and bolts.
