NexTT® - The new generation of pneumatic disc brakes type SyT7 has been specially developed for use in 9t semi-trailer applications. It is weight-optimised for light and medium requirements. With its single-piston design and low weight of less than 29 kg, the SyT7 disc brake is currently the lightest 22.5" trailer brake on the market. This means a higher payload without compromising on brake performance. Numerous pioneering new developments, which set them apart from other suppliers and set new standards in terms of efficiency and safety are incorporated into the new service concept. Tailored to the advanced technologies of the brake, it includes all the service parts and tools required for maintenance. Great importance was attached to optimising service-friendliness right from the development stage. The new pad concept includes an innovative taper wear compensation system and a new pad hold-down system. The inner pad is suspended in the carrier, which reduces the effort required for replacement and simplifies handling when changing the pad.

With its electrical and pneumatic control options, the intelligent electronic trailer brake system iTEBS X promotes safety, efficiency and comfort in vehicle operation. The new product generation has a further refined range of functions and the individual components of the brake system, including the parking and maneuvering valve and air suspension, are more easily networked. The iTEBS X system combines the electronic control unit, sensor technology and pneumatic brake control as well as brake functions such as ABS and load-dependent braking in one compact assembly. It retains the proven advantages of the Electronic Brake System for Trailers (TEBS). Thanks to the efficient pneumatic connection concept, this can still be easily installed and maintained and the brake control between the trailer and tractor unit is optimally coordinated.
A new component of the latest iTEBS X product generation is the cloud-supported configuration platform OCT (Online Configuration Tool). OCT was developed by Knorr-Bremse and Cojali and, together with the smart service concept, enables future-proof diagnostics and compliance with new regulatory requirements, e.g., for software update management (UN ECE R156) and cybersecurity (UN ECE R155).

Together with Cojali, Knorr-Bremse TruckServices expands it´s offerings with a repair service for ECU´s (Electronic Control Units) for Commercial Vehicles. This is a repair and refurbish service for non-functional ECU of commercial vehicles. It includes more than 2.500 different types of ECUs for Trucks, Busses, Off-highway and Agricultural vehicles. The ECU Repair network of Knorr-Bremse & Cojali is currently having 4 repair locations in Czech Republic, Spain, France and Italy.
In case of a non-functional ECU is detected at a workshop, the customer can now decide to exchange the faulty product with a new one or have it repaired within 36hrs. By choosing the repair option customers choose the environental and econonical solution by saving ~20% of the costs compared to buying a new product.
The service of repairing of the ECU is based on a full diagnosis of the ECU, resulting in detecting the fault and a precision repair for the individual case. The diagnosis on the test bench is the key element on detecting the reason of the failure and after disassembly of the PCB from the housing a deticated repair is conducted by exchanging the defect component such as a condesator or other electronic components. Additionally to the repair of the PCB the housing is refurbished and afterwards assembled and tested before shipment to the customer.

With the new Knorr-Bremse brake generation SyD7 (Synact DEVO), Knorr-Bremse has introduced the "ACR" system ("Active Caliper Release") and has developed an aftermarket solution that is easy to retrofit: the "APR" system ("Active Pad Release"). Unlike the ACR system, this spring system is attached directly to the pads and therefore actively releases the brake pads from the brake disc more quickly. It therefore compensates for the clearance between the outer pad, the brake disc, the inner pad and the tappets by quickly pressing the pads out. The APR system can be easily retrofitted by mounting it on the brake pads: Knorr-Bremse TruckServices integrates the four spring elements in brake pad kits, including the pads already prepared for installation.
Knorr-Bremse goes one step further and combines the advantages of the APR system with an environmentally friendly, copper-free pad material quality. By eliminating copper particles in abrasion, these contribute in particular to the protection of bodies of water. The combination of copper-free pad quality and the APR system reduces the fine dust emissions that are unavoidable when braking, thereby also optimising brake pad wear. The result: lower service costs, lower fuel costs and CO2 reduction.
