It is really quite simple: On the dashboard in the premium class automobile a warning light comes on when the brake pads need changing. But the Pad Wear Indicator (PWI), which is responsible for this indication, has to be developed individually for every brand an model of car. High demands with regard to functional and material safety are imposed at every step of the development. And BOWA is in an ideal position to satisfy these requirements.

• Based on conceptual sketches, BOWA’s development department produces a 3D CAD model in coordination with the customer.  
• This model provides the exact specification data for the next step: the manufacture of the experimental tool.  
• If the product satisfies the requirements for bulk production, approval is given for the final production process including the appropriate manufacturing tools.
