MISSION
VAMAG is an Italian leading Garage Equipment Company founded in 1981 in Italy by Mr. Gianfranco Crosta. He transformed his passion for Automotive into a job, building a Company that developed its own production since the beginning of the 80’s, becoming through the years one of the most important garage equipment manufacturing Companies in Italy.
Since its foundation, the idea of being able to create new products, made Vamag to be focused in designing and manufacturing products and solutions dedicated to any kind of workshop. Roller and platform brake testers, suspension testers, dynamometers are only some of the products 100% designed and manufactured by Vamag in its manufacturing facilities in Italy.
Our mission is to design, develop and manufacture and to supply the automotive aftermarket with 100% Made in Italy innovative equipment by means of which garages and workshops can increase their business and offer state-of-the-art services to the benefit of their customers and themselves.
KNOW-HOW AND ATTITUDE
VAMAG has become one of the Italian leaders in the development of electronic test equipment, and, thanks to the success on the local market, the Company started its expansion in foreign countries. The VAMAG know-how spreads out from latest generation programmable electronics to precision mechanics, all guaranteed by accurate quality system.
High technical performance, design reliability and versatility, competitive price and the ability to assure a timely assistance are the key success factors of the company. 884 projects, with a mean of 24 projects/year, have been started in the Company’s lifetime so far.
Patents and proprietary technologies have been developed through the years to produce innovative products that are well recognized around the world as Vamag signature.
Three operative Company premises covering a total area of around 30.000 sqm & over 60 employees located in Italy: Cassano Magnago (VA), Appiano Gentile (CO), Mondavio (PU).
In these premises, each of them with its competences, all the instruments are studied, produced and tested, pledging what Vamag proudly identify itself on International markets, a 100% Made in Italy quality.
HISTORY & STRATEGY
Established in 1981 to built technological instruments for car repair world, brake and suspension testers, Vamag today continues to develop new diagnostic & tyre-shop solutions (vehicle check & wheel alignment systems) for any kind of vehicle.
The installed fleet of brake tester exceed 15.500 pcs over the world, a third part of which in Italy, while the installed wheel alignment systems are more than 18.000 pcs in 47 countries, over 2.500 of which are the “New Dimension” 3D model.
At the very beginning, the company designed and manufactured precision scales and car testing equipment. After that, a team of experienced development engineers with strong vocation for applied technology and research has been established through the years, following the idea of being able to control the whole project from specifications to production through prototyping, always pushing forward technological limits.
Passion for technology drove the Company in the first half of the 90’s to study and develop a new range of high-technologic wheel alignment equipment, making this product the second core business of the Company and of the most important for the future of the Company.

ROLLER BRAKE TESTER
Roller brake tester production includes an extended range of models, realized to
satisfy technical specifications of many countries worldwide.
Different production lines has been set up distinguishing instruments for the Italian
market, where actually the most requested brake tester is the universal one, able to
test cars, mopeds, motorcycles, 3-wheelers, quad and 4-wheel light vehicles with
total weight ≤3,5 Tons, from the ones for the foreign markets which consider different
technical specifications in every country depending on the vehicle category to be
tested.
Even in a product line like the roller test benches one, considered a traditional one
with low in ovation possibilities, Vamag has been able to introduce important news
such as the metal roller with 10 years warranty, both for cars and heavy duty
vehicles.
In 2015 was presented the first combined brake & speed test bench (all in one
instrument), for which an International Patent was deposited and that represents a
unique instruments through the world.

The quickest, easiest and more profitable DYNAMIC TEST with platform brake /weight tester for HGV in the market. With an easy installation , in ground (70 mm eight ) or fixed on the floor , it measures all the «standard values » that can be measured with platforms , in a more accurate and quick way:

The software, also conceived by Vamag, is able to generate in a few seconds a
complete report of the individual checks and of the overall status of the vehicle.
Based on these results, visible on the screen and coded in red, green and yellow
colours (depending on the priorities), the customer becomes aware in real time of
any other anomalies (in addition to those that took him to the workshop) and can
decide what to do.
As can be seen from this description, acceptance can become a business
opportunity for your workshop, using objective data to inform the customer. Based on
your initiative, you can propose maintenance actions on the bodywork, on the rims,
replacement of the mats and wiper blades and much more.

NewDimension 3D achsvermessung
TheVamag New Dimension 3D wheel alignment system is the result of the higher company resources investment, which covers the instrument with 6 International Patents.
An ambitious project developed with the experience of Vamag developers and the proprietary data-processing software which allowed the realization of one of the more rapid and precise 3D vehicle’s geometry measurement system in the market.
Floor / ceiling installation or using stand mounted on the floor, the New Dimension has been able to suit the most complex standard of some countries and the most different workshop layouts.
The direct vision technology using high-resolution cameras and its particular predisposition for side view of the target applied on vehicle’s tyres, which make it a drive-through system, take undeniable advantages in terms of data acquisition speed and linear measurement precision.
Data visualization software with 3D graphics and Autodata databank, both updated by web, allow to access to always-updated information of the available measurements and regulations.
Instant alignment data acquisition - Run-out compensation can be skipped.
Thanks to the ND system, the Patented measurement method and the hang-on-tyre clamps, the operator can skip run-out compensation without losing any precision! ALL THE DATA CAN BE MEASURED IN LESS THAN 30 SECONDS.

AUTOMATIC CASTER SWING
Caster swing can be performed at 6°- 10°- 20°. There’s no need to set up the degrees from the settings, simply click on the icon to change the value.
Using the RoboSterz (Patented robot which makes the caster swing automatically) the procedure is 100% automatic and the operator can save a lot of time doing other works in the meanwhile the robot is working.

DynoRace - Leistungsmesstechnik
DYNORACE
Dyno products are diagnostic tools crucial for testing performance of cars, bikes, heavy duty and agricultural vehicles in the safest way. In particular, the eddy current braked system supplied by the Dyno line allows to simulate real road conditions to test the dynamic working of the vehicle in specific situations.
This practical approach avoids dangerous tests on the road, so increasing tuners’ safety while wiping out all road risks. Dynamometers of the Dyno line are currently supplied to many different users: technical centers for test and certification, repair shops and garages, engine tuning centers and race teams, R&D centers, high schools and Universities, transport ministerial authorities, vehicle manufacturers, magazines of the transport sector.
The compact size of this device, the user-friendly logic and the versatility of its software, as well as the accuracy of assessments make Dynorace the ideal machine for servicing both workshops willing to integrate a diagnostic graph and tuning/developing centers involved in motorsport.
The possibility to recreate working defects/problems occurred on the road and the repeatability of the tests performed (which involves the stability of the measured data) have always been pursued as primary target in the development of the device. The consequence of this approach is the continuous improvement of our range of dynamometers in the past few years which also means the highest trustworthiness of the results acquired during the tests.
The use of eddy current brakes (theoretical braking power over 500 Hp for each axle) allows dynamic tests like:
- Test of duration
- Regenerative procedure of diesel particulate filter
- Test of fuel consumption
- Research and development on vehicles
- Test of vehicle’s working and quality
The mechanical reliability of the dynamometer is determined by the use of high quality parts, laser technology and lower tolerance in the production process. This method allows to offer a superior quality and a more performing range of dynamometers. Therefore, the mechanical maintenance of the dyno is reduced, less frequent and simplified.
This is valid also for the hydraulic system offered in the HLS® version: as a term of comparison, dyno with belts to transfer the traction between front/rear axle require a careful technical monitoring every 40 hours of use and frequent inspections to verify the correct set-up.

The version supplied with HLS® system (Hydraulic Link System) allow the hydraulic link between front/rear axles to determine the same devolution speed: this is why tests on vehicles, that could not be dynoed otherwise (because of their four wheel drive with electronic/mechanical system distributing engine torque between front/rear axles in a non-proportional way), can be safely carried out with HLS® system. This feature therefore constrains electronic systems like traction, stability and braking control so making the test possible.
DYNORACE is the only dynamometer with the possibility to link or disconnect front/rear axles thanks to this HLS® system, in case of vehicles that do not require this link or when this link can be even dangerous.
The choice of the hydraulic system rather than toothed belts or driving shafts was preferred to guarantee maximum safety during tests with high torque and high revolution of the rollers. This also allows to use rollers with smaller diameter so having a more compact size of the whole dyno, that can anyway be adapted to the vehicle being tested thanks to a motorized reducer. Moreover, all dynamometers of the DYNORACE line are mechanically engineered to support max 2.500 kg per axle and are equipped with a blocking and lifting system of the rollers in order to make this operation easier and again, safer.
Finally, Dynorace line is accessoried by items that can better support or complete its tests. The electric and electronic part managing the working of the dyno is common to all versions (a panel next to the dynamometer), while the software managing is carried out through a Personal Computer.
The data acquired can be integrated by additional parameters made available by the analog acquisition system and a kit to assess the wide band oxygen value. Lastly, the centrifugal fan is important to avoid the increase of temperature of the intake air and therefore overheating of the engine. This fan can be connected to an inverter to link the air speed to the one of the vehicle being tested, so to better simulate road conditions.
Special mention for our NEW OBDII data interface, which permits the visualization and recording of additional 4 parameters from the vehicle diagnostics of cars, pick-up trucks and light commercial vehicles.
The selection can be done through all the parameters supported via OBDII.Moreover, at the end of the test, the OBDII data interface allows to delete the errors detected from the vehicle diagnostics.
