Braking System

Description

Safety, control, and reliability for effective braking.

OP brake components compliant with the international standard ECE R-90 ensure safety and quality, guaranteeing performance equivalent to the originals. The ECE R-90 regulation specifies the design, construction, and performance requirements that the friction material of brake components must meet. To ensure the maximum efficiency of its brake components, OP conducts quality control operations during all production phases. Subsequent testing on dynamometer and road is crucial to verify safety and braking effectiveness, as well as the durability of the product.

OP brake components:

  • Brake Pads:
    - Specific compounds suitable for different vehicle categories (small and medium, large and SUVs, commercial, electric).
    - High-performance and eco-friendly friction material free from heavy metals.
    - Reduced initial fading thanks to the Scorching treatment at 650°C performed on the friction material, ensuring high performance from the first brake.
    - Wear indicators included where required.

  • Brake Discs:
     - Standard discs with anti-oxidation treatment
     - Coated discs with silicone painting for oxidation protection
     - Discs with integrated bearing and ABS for quick and correct disc replacement
     - Composite discs with crown and rivets with special coating that eliminates the need for degreasing and protects against corrosion. Increased heat dissipation and optimal directionality thanks to a 20% weight reduction, which also allows for reduced consumption.

  • Brake Shoes and Brake Shoe Kits:
     - Hard-Formed Friction Material (HFM)
     - CNC machined registers

  • Brake Drums:
     - Perlitic cast iron G26
     - Internal and external machining
     - Available with integrated bearing and ABS

  • Brake Hydraulic System:
     - Brake cylinder with rubber seal highly resistant even to high temperatures (approximately 150°C).
    - Brake pump tested to assess resistance and durability over time.
