The surfaces on which the paste will be applied are thoroughly cleaned from substances such as dirt, oil and grease using a cleaning thinner. If there are rusty areas on the surface, these areas are sanded with coarse sandpaper until the metal shine is obtained before using the cleaning thinner. If the hardened old painted surfaces, which are not prone to vomiting and thermoplastic properties, are in good condition, they are cleaned, sanded and polyester putty is applied. Apart from this, the old painted surfaces should be sanded down to the metal. 1-2% hardener is added to Polyester Putty and applied with steel. The hardened putty is sanded with P80-180 sandpaper.
Applicable Products
After applying any of the 1K and 2K primers on it, any top coat of paint can be applied on it.
Suggestions
As with all polyester putties, polyester putty should not be applied on products with acid hardener. If more than the recommended amount of hardener is mixed in all polyester putties in order to speed up drying, discoloration of the topcoat paints may occur due to peroxide bleed. Do not use more than the specified amount of hardener. Mix the putty and hardener very well.
The relative humidity in the application environment should be 45-65%, and the temperature of the surface, environment and product should be 5-30°C. Low temperature and insufficient air circulation or high humidity delay drying times and may negatively affect product performance.
