Turbocharger is a contraption which supercharges modern engines, both for diesel and petrol engines. It is driven by exhaust gases with a compression ratio between the two turbocharger chambers. The turbocharger increases the pressure of the air entering the engine and thus its specific weight. Therefore, it enables the engine to run at the same speed with a larger amount of fuel while maintaining the same mixture ratio.
