Über uns
Italclem was established in 1977 in Italy by a team of engineers with strong experience in the electrotechnical area. The company core business underwent an evolution in the years: starting from the development of flush series and plugs for domestic use, Italclem has now been projecting and manufacturing modular protection devices like MCBs, RCCBs and RCBOs for several years. The goal is to satisfy the increasing demand of higher safety in more and more sophisticated applications. Nowadays Italclem can rely on Italian manufacturing and Projecting Team, thus greatly emphasizing the attitude to care for work and quality. Products are manufactured in the plant located in Storo, in Trentino area, while projects are developed in the offices in Brescia, both places in Northern Italy.
Italclem company structure is on family owned basis, therefore fully independent from large multinational groups, which nowadays have full monopoly in the protection devices sector. Quality is an essential strategic target for Italclem. Working in quality means for us supplying products in compliance with the Standards in force and with the final application requests. But quality is also being able to provide the final Customer with a quick reply and a flexible service and offering solutions suitable to any questions which may arise upon the installation and application of our devices.
In Italclem’s production Process, quality clearly emerges from accurate tests carried out on 100% of the products, from the strict traceability system, from the planning of detailed type tests’ programs, from the attention to continuous improvement imposed by the constant Regulations’ evolution and by the application of new technologies. The production of MCBs, RCCBs and RCBOs require very specific competences. Each circuit breaker is made by several components and all of them have to be strictly in compliance with the original project in order that the final assembly duly performs and grants its critical protection function.
Each phase of the manufacturing process is severely monitored. Products are 100% tested in order to verify their performances according to Standards’ requirements, and therefore in terms of insulation, residual current tripping, thermal tripping, magnetic performances, mechanical functioning and any other prescriptions by the Standards, all aimed to achieve top quality devices.
Italclem manufactures a complete range of protection devices: MCBs from 0,5 to 125A, RCCBs from 16 to 125A and RCBOs from 1 to 63A. RCCBs and RCBOs are available in class AC, A, A-HI, F and B and in all sensitivities (10 – 30 – 100 – 300 - 500mA). Accessories like shunt trip device and auxiliary switch complete the range in order to provide the installer with all needed devices.

FI-LS 3P+N TYP A
RCBOs 3P+N GO range provide a full protection to both the persons and the electrical appliances, as they are designed to automatically cutoff the power supply in case of overload, short-circuit and earth leakage.
Type A RCBOs grant protection in presence of fault currents of both sinusoidal alternate and pulsating type. They are therefore recommended to protect three-phase installations supplying electric apparatus with electronic rectifiers or electronic circuits regulating the current wave.
RCBOs’ functioning is independent from line voltage and its mechanism is trip-free, that is the RCBOs can also trip when the lever is held in ON position.
All RCBOs are equipped with a visual indicator which discriminates residual current tripping (blue) from overload tripping (transparent).
All products can be power supplied from both the top and the bottom terminals. Furthermore “cage” type terminals facilitate connection both through conductors (up to 35mm² rigid and 25mm² flexible) and through busbars (both pin or fork types).
RCBOs 3P+N are in just four DIN modules, thus granting a significant space saving compared to the common solution MCBs + add-on-block.
In addition to B and C characteristic , RCBOs can also be supplied in D curve upon request.

FI-LS TYP B 3P+N
RCBOs type B grant protection to persons and machineries in presence of DC current and high frequency AC fault current. Among the several types of RCBOs, type B provide the upmost level of protection.
Some applications’ examples are: electrical installations protecting elevators, escalators, welding machines, electro-medicals’ instrumentation, ventilation systems, PV systems, e-mobility charging stations.
The brand new RCBOs type B 3P+N from Italclem are in just four and a half DIN modules, therefore extremely compact compared to the other solutions available in the market.
Italclem’s range includes AC-DC sensitive RCBOs for DIN rail mounting which are in compliance with VDE 0664 Part 20 and 200. These items have two different characteristics of the tripping frequency course:
- NK version: devices with the NK suffix are specially designed for use in electrical installations where reliable fire protection over a wide frequency range is required. These items are in compliance with the requirements of VdS Directive 3501 in respect of fire protection up to 100kHz (within the range of the switching frequency converters).
- SK version: devices with the SK suffix are suitable for applications in electrical installations where particularly high leakage currents within the range of the switching frequency of frequency converters are to be expected and no fire protection is demanded. Due to an increased insensitivity in the upper frequency range, unwanted tripping can largely be avoided.
RCBOs’ mechanism is trip-free, that is the RCBOs can also trip when the lever is held in ON position.
All RCBOs are equipped with a visual indicator which discriminates residual current tripping (blue) from overload tripping (transparent) and with a green led signaling that the voltage is sufficient for product’s functioning as type B.
All products must be power supplied from the power side. Furthermore “cage” type terminals facilitate connection both through conductors (up to 35 mm² rigid and 25mm² flexible) and through busbars (both pin or fork types).

FI-LS TYP B
RCBOs type B grant protection to persons and machineries in presence of DC current and high frequency AC fault current. Among the several types of RCBOs, type B provide the upmost level of protection.
Some applications’ examples are: protection of electronic loads including frequency converters, electro-medicals’ instrumentation, ventilation systems, PV systems.
The brand new RCBOs type B 1P+N from Italclem are in just two and a half DIN modules, therefore extremely compact compared to the other solutions available in the market.

FI und FI-LS typ B
The use of electronic equipment (e.g. frequency converters) in electrical installations is constantly increasing. In the event of a fault smooth DC currents and high frequency AC residual currents may arise; these will not be detected by a standard type A residual current protection device. This is the reason type B residual current protection devices should be used especially for such applications. Applications are in the industrial, tertiary and hospital sectors applications where residual current devices type B are required are more and more common. The main categories of these systems and equipment are:
- Three-phase static continuity systems (UPS) (hospitals, shopping malls, banks, laboratories, industrial plants);
- Frequency converters (inverters) for the supply of DC current motors (elevators, tooling machineries, robotics, transfer lines, circulation pumps, centrifugal pumps, conveyors, mixers, textile machines, packaging machineries). Three-phase frequency converters (inverters) are more and more used to regulate motors as they grant more efficiency and energy savings. In case of earth fault, they may cause smooth DC currents or high frequency. This fault can be protected only by type B RCCBs or RCBOs. Regarding the type of traction, elevators can be electric with ropes or hydraulic. Electric elevators are recently manufactured with speed control systems based on frequency and tension’s variation of asyncron three-phase motors by mean of inverters.
- AC and DC converters for DC current supply (elevators, tooling machineries, lifting systems, presses, dies, welding machineries, railway traction, magnetic resonance, X-ray instrumentation); class I converters are made with a three-phase bridge arranged with six diodes or with six thyristores, therefore they must be protected by a RCCB or RCBOs type B.
- AC and DC converters for the conversion of the energy provided by PV systems into AC current (PV systems with a static converter without transformer). When an electrical installation includes a PV supply system without at least a simple separation between AC and DC side, the residual current device to be installed as protection against indirect contacts must be type B.
- Charging stations for electrical vehicles, with three-phase supply system. The chargers mounted on electrical vehicles contain non linear parts and filters suitable to generate currents to earth containing DC current.
Italclem’s range includes AC-DC sensitive RCCBs and RCBOs for DIN rail mounting which are in compliance respectively with VDE 0664 Part 10 and 100, and VDE 0664 Part 20 and 200. These items have two different characteristics of the tripping frequency course:
- NK version: devices with the NK suffix are specially designed for use in electrical installations where reliable fire protection over a wide frequency range is required.
