IFEMA ends partnership with Automechanika

Spanish trade fair organiser IFEMA has withdrawn from its partnership with Messe Frankfurt. Motortec Madrid has been held as a licensed event under the Automechanika brand since 2011.

During its partnership with the leading trade fair brand Automechanika, Motortec Automechanika Madrid was able to increase the number of visitors by a third. There were approx. 600 exhibitors at the most recent event, some 350 more than there had been in 2011. Michael Johannes, Vice President of Messe Frankfurt with responsibility for the Mobility & Logistics division: “We regret IFEMA’s decision, because Motortec Automechanika Madrid has been enjoying successful growth these past eight years. Now we will be exploring the Spanish market to identify the most promising opportunities in the region and let Spanish companies know about our Automechanika trade fairs around the globe. We have enjoyed a good cooperation with Sernauto, Spain’s leading association for the aftermarket, for more than 30 years now, and they will be continuing to support our efforts.”

Automechanika Frankfurt has also been enjoying healthy growth in the number of Spanish exhibitors. Following the economic crisis, over the past three events the number of Spanish exhibitors has increased to 132.

The next Automechanika Frankfurt is scheduled to take place from 8 to 12 September 2020.
