The fifth edition of Automechanika Johannesburg, held at Expo Centre, Nasrec, from 27-30 September 2017, continued its steady growth as the largest and most important business platform for the automotive service sector in sub-Saharan Africa.
Innovative Co-Location Increases Value Proposition for Exhibitors and Trade Visitors
Due to the inarguable synergies among the relevant industry sectors, an innovative new development was the co-location with Automechanika Johannesburg of Futuroad Expo, an all-new Truck /Bus/ Commercial Vehicle Business to Business Show as well as Scalex Johannesburg, a new and unique business platform for the Logistics and Materials Handling Sector, with a common mission to reach trade visitors not only from South Africa, but the entire sub-Saharan African Region.
The net result was the largest ever business platform of its kind on the African Continent, providing exposure and business opportunity to the sub-Saharan African Region for over 600 exhibitors from 26 countries, including South Africa, and thousands of visitors from South Africa and the sub-Saharan African Region.
The Future is Regional!
Due to the globalisation of business, national boundaries have long ceased to be an all-determining factor. Sub-Saharan Africa is no exception, with rapidly increasing regionalisation of trade in the Region. In this respect, Automechanika Johannesburg, Futuroad Expo and Scalex Johannesburg, as sub-Saharan African Regional events, have proven to be the ideal solution for exhibitors who are interested in doing business not only in South Africa, but the entire sub-Saharan African Region. Automechanika Johannesburg, Futuroad Expo and Scalex Johannesburg enjoyed wide industry support, as evidenced by the endorsement of leading industry associations.
A total of 17 conferences and events were held during the four days of the Shows, attracting a total of over 1,500 delegates, who were able to acquaint themselves with the latest developments and technologies in their respective industry sectors. This underpins the wide recognition and support that the Shows enjoyed as true industry events and the importance that industry networking plays as an integral part of the business platform that is Automechanika Johannesburg, Futuroad Expo and Scalex Johannesburg.
