Eurasia Moto Bike Expo: Motobike Istanbul Fair ends with colorful images

The Motobike Istanbul 2017, which exhibited all innovations in the motorbike and bicycle world, ended on February 26 Sunday. The fair that was swarmed by visitors received a great deal of attention from both the leading brands of the industry and the motorbike and bicycle fans.

The motorbike and bicycle world came together in Motobike Istanbul, which is Turkey’s leading international motorbike, bicycle and accessories fair, for the ninth time. The fair that was opened on February 23 Thursday and ended on February 26 Sunday was virtually swarmed by visitors. In the fair organized in an area of 16,836 square meters (corresponding to an increase of 1,127 square meters from the year 2016) in total in the halls 9, 10 and 11 of Istanbul Fair Center located in Yeşilköy, the motorbike and bicycle season has also been opened. This year's fair was participated by 80 participants from the motorbike product group with 200 different brands and 16 bicycle firms with 65 different brands.

In Motobike Istanbul, sponsored by Ford and Opet brands in addition to others and supported by the associations of MOTED, BISED and MOTODER, over 50 new motorbike and bicycle models were promoted for the first time. While Yamaha was grabbing attention of the fair visitors with the magnificent launch of its latest model MT-25, BMW offered its hotly anticipated model Motorrad G310R to fair visitors. While Honda was appearing before the visitors with its renewed CRF250 family, it promoted its brand-new CBR1000 model through interesting shows. Bajaj performed the Europe launch of its model Dominar 400 on the first day of Motobike Istanbul fair. While Ducati Panigale 1299S, the most expensive motorbike of the fair, was mind-blowing for its price of 55 thousand Euro, Triumph Bobber drew all attentions for its beauty.


Foreign pilots who have raced in Dakar met visitors on the first day of the fair. The autograph day of Honda pilots Joan Barreda and Paul Goncalves was swarmed by visitors. Motobike Istanbul was also the meeting place for Turkish racers with their fans. The conference delivered by Koray Özkaplan and Serkan Özdemir, who have represented Turkey in Dakar, within the scope of the Motobike Academy was listened with interest. The national motorcyclists Kenan Sofuoğlu, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and Harun Çabuk met visitors, distributed autographs, and had their photos taken at the booths of the participant firms.

In addition to innovations in the industry and visual events, the fair visitors have found a chance to participate freely in the Motobike Academy seminars and presentations through the Fashion Talk, Travel Talk and Tech Talk programs for the first time this year.

Tayfun Yardım, Messe Frankfurt Istanbul General Manager, who stated that they were very satisfied with the great interest to Motobike Istanbul, said, “Motobike Istanbul, in which we have hosted motorbike and bicycle fans, has been exactly as we wanted this year. We thank again the lecturers who were beside us in the Motobike Academy we have organized for the first time, in addition to the associations and participant firms who supported us. We are greatly happy to host this most important organization of the industry, which is the only motorbike fair in Messe Frankfurt’s portfolio. We have already started the preparations of Motobike Istanbul, which we aim to carry forward one step more each year, for the year 2018; we hope to see you again next year.” The next year, Motobike Istanbul is going to be held on 22 – 25 February 2018.

In the draw that is a Motobike Istanbul classic, the visitors have participated with the ticket barcodes they had bought from Biletix. The draw, in which Ducati, Bajaj, KTM and SYM motorbikes and Tetra and Sedona bicycles will find their owners, is going to be held in the presence of the national lottery on March 31, 2017.

In addition to the Ministry of Economy Procurement Committee, KOSGEB and the leading associations of the industry such as MOTED (Motorcycle Industry Association), BISED (Bicycle Industry Association), MOTODER (Motorcycle Industrialists' Association) support the fair.
