Automechanika Istanbul: The most international Automechanika Istanbul ever!

The status of No. 1 of Automechanika Istanbul in the Eurasian region has been proved once more

Exhibitors from 33 countries came together with visitors from more than 110 countries

Automechanika Istanbul, the third biggest trade fair of the year for the automotive industry was held from 6th to 9th of April 2017 at the TÜYAP Exhibition Center. After four impressive days, the great success of Automechanika Istanbul has been proved again with its high internationality in terms of exhibitors and visitors. The event provided mutual benefit and growth for the leaders of the industry.

1,217 exhibitors from 33 countries showcased their innovations related to Parts and Systems, Repair and Maintenance, Oil, Accumulator, Accessory, Reifen Rim and Tire, Hand Tolls, Auto Washing and Truck Competence at 13 halls. 12 official country pavilions including Germany, Czech Republic, China, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Morocco, Pakistan, Spain, Taiwan, France and South Korea took part this year.

Automechanika Istanbul proved that important events bring people from all over the world together. The show provided the most international gathering of the last years for the automotive industry not only with its exhibitors from 33 countries but also the visitors came from more than 110 countries. During the four days 43,874 visitors were hosted. With the support of Ministry of Economy and Automotive Exporters Union, buyer delegations from Bosnia - Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Algeria, Czech Republic, Morocco, Palestine, Serbia, Tunisia and Greece visited the fair. In addition to foreign delegations, over 100 Anatolian delegations from all around Turkey visited the fair as a result of cooperation with the institutions such as Chambers of Industry and Commerce.

The future of industry discussed in Automechanika Academy

With the support of TAYSAD, OSS, AKÜDER and TOBFED, Automechanika Academy focused on the future of the industry with various seminars, workshops and events. Seminars were organized on “After-sales trends in the automotive industry until 2030” by OSS, "Career Steps in the automotive sector" by TAYSAD, "Future Battery Technologies" by AKÜDER, "Car Care & Maintenance Sector in Turkey and the Vision for the Future" by TOBFED. In addition, various topics such as tire repair, paint protection, ceramic coating, foil coating were discussed in the workshops that were held on the 12th and 14th halls and car washing training was held by TOBFED.

In addition, "E-mobility and Future Technologies" Special Forum and Display Area was organized for the first time this year at the 7th Hall. Suppliers and new entrepreneurs presented alternative driving systems, autonomous driving, future fleet management, intelligent charging stations, data management and alternative fuel technologies in this area. Exciting technological developments in the fields of remote maintenance, tele-diagnostic, batteries and accumulators were discussed.

Impressive events at Automechanika Istanbul

Besides the seminars and workshops, Automechanika Istanbul drew intense interests with its events as well. In addition to commercial vehicle models produced by İsmail Erzurumluoğlu, live performance of automobile drawings by painter and illustration artist Osman Arık was on display for the fair visitors. A Formula 1 simulator, an airplane simulator rotating 360 degrees and a rally simulator attracted visitors' attention.

The first domestic racing automobile, Volkicar designed by Volkan Işık to show the power of Turkish automotive industry and Volkicar simulator was also presented at Automechanika Istanbul. Moreover, visitors were able to watch a great live performance by ES Garage, one of the leading workshops of Turkey. During 4 days, a 1987 model M3 sports car was restored using the parts produced by exhibitors and ES Garage. The largest fleet operator company of Turkey, Intercity showcased a Porsche GT3 and Caterham race cars. A retrospective focus on the Turkish rally history, Retro Rally Exhibition was also located in Automechanika Istanbul 2017. With the contribution of Classic Automobile Club, Automechanika Istanbul hosted the automobiles which witnessed automobile history. In addition to these, visitors interested in motorsports took the opportunity to get information from the TOSFED stand on how to get license and participate in trainings and seminars.

With the brand-new products and attractive events, the 11th edition of Automechanika Istanbul closed its doors with a great success. The next edition of Automechanika Istanbul will take place from 5 to 8 April 2018.
