Due to difficult conditions resulting from the corona pandemic, Messe Frankfurt and its customers, partners and supporting associations have agreed to postpone the Automechanika Frankfurt event until 14 to 18 September 2021. The leading international trade fair for the automotive aftermarket will then resume its biennial rotation – the event now will be taking place in odd-numbered years. We have complied these FAQs to assist you in answering the most frequently asked questions.
Information for exhibitors
What are the next steps?
- Automechanika Frankfurt will take place next year from 14 to 18 September 2021.
- The Automechanika Frankfurt team will ensure that its exhibitors are informed of the current stand area situation and sent each of them a carry-over agreement for the new event dates. You can declare your acceptance of the new dates by signing the carry-over agreement transferring the Contract of Participation to the September 2021 event, by 3 July latest.
- In the event that you agree to the carry-over agreement, early next year you will be sent a new stand rental invoice for Automechanika Frankfurt 2021.
- Your current stand rental invoice for Automechanika Frankfurt 2020 will be cancelled. Within the next weeks you will receive a cancellation letter.
- As the planning process progresses, your Sales Manager will stay in touch with you to keep you informed of additional details for your preparations for the 2021 event.

Will I keep my stand area for the new event dates?
The Automechanika Frankfurt team will ensure that its exhibitors are informed of the current stand area situation and send each of them a carry-over agreement for the new event dates. You can declare your acceptance of the new dates by signing the carry-over agreement transferring the Contract of Participation to the September 2021 event.
What will happen with my stand rental invoice?
In the event that you agree to the carry-over agreement, early next year you will be sent a new stand rental invoice for Automechanika Frankfurt 2021.
Your current stand rental invoice for Automechanika Frankfurt 2020 will be cancelled. Within the next weeks you will receive a cancellation letter.

Do I have to register again for Automechanika Frankfurt 2021?
If you have received a carry-over agreement from us, your registration for Automechanika Frankfurt 2020 will remain for the 2021 event and you do not have to register again. Even if you do not sign the agreement.
In all other cases, we kindly ask you to register again for Automechanika Frankfurt 2021. Registration is now open.
Will orders that have already been placed in the Shop for Exhibitor Services be transferred to Automechanika Frankfurt 2021?
We will cancel all of the orders you placed for services in Messe Frankfurt’s Shop for Exhibitor Services, as well as all orders you placed individually (e.g. for stand construction, logistics, advertising, catalogue and/or catering services). We will refund any fees that you have already paid for these exhibitor services.
We will let you know as soon as the Shop for Exhibitor Services is available.
What will happen with the stand construction services that I ordered from Messe Frankfurt Fairconstruction?
Messe Frankfurt Fairconstruction is an independent company. If you have any questions regarding services booked from Messe Frankfurt Fairconstruction, please contact them directly.
What will happen with the stand construction plans that I submitted?
Stand construction plans that have already been agreed for the Automechanika 2020 event will remain valid as long as no changes are made to the plans and the originally agreed stand position is retained. This applies for stands that are 100 square metres or larger in size with a height of 4 metres and a closed ceiling.
What should I do if I want to cancel my stand?
If you decide not to take part in Automechanika Frankfurt 2021 and do not sign the carry-over agreement for the 2021 event, you can cancel your stand area free of charge. Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH will refund any stand rental fees that you have already paid and waive fees arising from the stand rental contract that had not yet been paid. Please contact your Sales Manager directly if you wish to do this.

Do I have to re-register the joint stand participants whom I have already registered for my stand? / I am a joint stand participant – what will happen with my registration?
In the event that the main exhibitor / organiser confirms participation for the new date, the joint stand participants can be registered.

What will happen with my submission for the Innovation Award?
The Automechanika Innovation Awards will not be given in 2020. Companies that have already submitted their products will receive further information in the next few weeks.
Information for visitors
What about my already purchased visitor ticket?
Everyone who has already purchased a visitor ticket will receive a full refund. Please send an email to tickets@messefrankfurt.com regarding a refund for your ticket.
Will my voucher code for a visitor ticket become invalid?
All voucher codes will become invalid. Voucher codes that have already been redeemed cannot be transferred to 2021. Voucher codes for Automechanika 2021 can be redeemed once online ticketing opens.

What will happen with my travel reservations?
If you have any questions regarding your travel reservations for visiting Automechanika, please contact your contracting party directly (e.g. airlines). Information on this can be found in the cancellation conditions of the contracting party. This also applies to reservations/bookings for hotels, bed and breakfasts etc.
What will happen with my hotel reservation?
Messe Frankfurt is in close contact with Frankfurt’s hotel sector, and they have assured us that, even in this difficult situation for everyone concerned, every effort will be made to offer the best possible customer service and greatest flexibility in rebooking reservations. Even so, the legal terms of the accommodation agreements and their corresponding cancellation rules for room reservations continue to apply.
