Events: Joint stand for Germany's new Association of Automobile Tuners

The Association of Automobile Tuners (VDAT) will be represented at the Automechanika by a large joint stand in Hall 4.1. Following the merger of the VDAT e.V.and VATZ e.V. associations to form the new VDAT association, the German tuning sector can once again speak with a single voice and has more members than ever before. They include 90 percent of all renowned tuning companies, as well as manufacturers of tyres, suspension parts, silencers, body parts and wheels.

"Germany is the world's foremost automobile tuning nation! And we intend to demonstrate this once again at the Automechanika", says Hans-Jörg Köninger, Managing Director of VDAT. "Word has got around that the best tuners are to be found in Germany. We have benefited from clear technical regulations for 30 years now, which means we can guarantee safe products – something that hardly any other country can boast. And this is the reason that we export over 50 percent of our tuning products."

With a campaign entitled 'tune it! safe!' under the patronage of Federal Minister of Transport Wolfgang Tiefensee, VDAT aims to distinguish its member's products from those of cheap suppliers and product pirates, in common with Messe Frankfurt's initiative, 'Messe Frankfurt against Copying'.

Visitors can look forward to seeing numerous tuned cars, including the tuned patrol car of the 'tune it! safe!' campaign, which is sure to be an eye catcher.
