The Future. Technology. Service Expertise' special show of the German Association for Motor Trades and Repairs (ZDK)
The special show focuses on aspects of current and future automotive technology and their impact on the service expertise of workshop personnel. Given the continuous increase in the use of new electronic components, systems and technologies in motor vehicles, advanced training for workshop personnel is virtually indispensable. After all, the skilful use of equipment and data represents a decisive competitive factor for the modern workshop.

The subject areas of the special show:

The future
- Electrical vehicles (modern energy-storage systems)
- Concept automobile (exhaust emissions / fuel consumption)

Bodywork
- Repairing modern automobile bodies with regard to high-strength
  and very high-strength steel sheet panels, jointing techniques
  and welding techniques
- Repairing body parts made of aluminium

Diagnosis
- Technical inspections for OBD vehicles
- Air-conditioning – service and training
- Diagnose and flashing control units
- Maintenance, repair and information systems

Emissions-control technology
- Particle filters for retrofitting

- Testing the brakes of all-wheel drive vehicles

- Alternative fuels – quality standards for diagnosis, servicing,

- Alternative drive systems – effects on diagnosis, servicing, repairs

Training / schooling
- E-learning (electronically-aided learning) illustrated by the example
  of a TAK Academy course on the 'Physical Principles of Safety
  Testing'
